Dignity
The needs of older people vary greatly so we recognise the need to treat each resident as an individual, whose dignity and independence are to be respected. The home is divided into four wings in which we offer a wide spectrum of nursing care, including facilities for those with physical disabilities and two wings that specialise in caring for people with dementia.
We regularly hold Resident and Relative meetings to enable opinions, suggestions and recommendations to be voiced.
Professionalism
The excellent staff team is made up of trained specialists in providing care for older people. All care staff are trained to NVQ Level II in Care. This enables staff to undertake their role with knowledge and skills and deliver high standards of care. We believe their professionalism is second to none, but we are also proud of their warmth and friendliness that makes the Bradbury Centre so special. In recent years, the outstanding quality of care delivered by our staff has been recognised in their reaching the finals of a number of competitions. |
Care |
|
With nursing, amenities and therapeutic facilities specially designed for use by older people, The Bradbury Centre has the ability to provide care over a wide spectrum of need.
Short stays can sometimes be arranged very quickly, and a full nursing assessment is undertaken in consultation with the prospective resident and his or her family and other health professionals. |
Admission is initially for a trial period of one month, after which, if both parties agree, a contract for a longer stay is offered.
The home has its own GP, who visits regularly and provides emergency cover, but arrangements can be made for residents to retain their own doctor if they wish. We have a visiting hairdresser and a chiropodist who both attend regularly. |
