AgeCare

Dementia Care Campaign

Picture a world in which every older person with dementia is treated with the dignity and respect that they deserve in a comfortable and caring environment. AgeCare aims to make this vision a reality. With your help, we can do it.

AgeCare is committed to raising standards of care for all older people. The ethos of a ‘home for life’ is crucial in supporting older people through the ageing process as well as helping their relatives and loved ones to avoid any unnecessary distress. The recent success of our award winning AgeCare Awards Training Programme which caters for all care staff has enabled us to share our considerable expertise with others in the sector.

Dementia CareThe Need for Dementia Care

There comes a time when elderly people may need extra help in their daily lives. Perhaps, they are less sure on their feet, unable to take care of themselves so well, or forgetful in a way that causes loved ones concern.

  • In 20 years’ time, 5% of the UK population will be aged over 80
  • Even now 20% of people aged 80 or over have dementia

The onset of conditions such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's create further challenges for an increasing number of individuals and highlights the urgent need for safe and secure accommodation as well as a more person-centred approach to nursing that promotes both dignity and independence.

The Dementia Care Campaign

Print a Donation FormTo enable us to meet the many challenges that dementia presents and allow for continuity ofcare delivered to a high standard at Dorset House, AgeCare is launching a Dementia Care Campaign which has the support of AgeCare’s Patron, HRH The Duchess of Gloucester at the very heart of the operation.

For us to succeed in this campaign we need to raise £750k towards a new Dementia Care Wing for our community in Droitwich Spa.

As we grow older we all hope that we will continue to remain in good health. Unfortunately, for some people this is not the reality. Most of us know of relatives, friends or colleagues who have suffered from some form of dementia. Please give our campaign the consideration it deserves and remember, we will only reach our target with your help, so please consider supporting AgeCare’s work. Thank you.
