Dorset House

Dorset House

Situated within walking distance of Droitwich Spa town centre, Dorset House was built in 1928 and since 1975 it has been run as a residential care home by RSAS AgeCare, one of the country’s oldest medical charities.

Dignity

The needs of older people vary greatly so we recognise the need to treat each resident as an individual, whose dignity and independence are to be respected at all times.

Residents are encouraged to bring in personal items and small articles of furniture, which help to provide a homely atmosphere and enhance the private nature of each resident’s room.

We regularly hold Resident and Relative meetings to enable opinions, suggestions and recommendations to be voiced.

Professionalism

The excellent staff team is made up of trained specialists in providing care for older people.

We believe their professionalism is second to none, but we are also proud of their warmth and friendliness that make Dorset House so special.

Care

With amenities and therapeutic facilities specially designed for use by older people, Dorset House offers residential and nursing care of the highest order. We can provide short stay or permanent accommodation to suit your individual requirements.

Prior to any stay a full assessment is undertaken in consultation with the prospective resident and his or her family and other health professionals.

Admission is initially for a trial period after which, if both parties agree, a contract for a longer stay is agreed.

The home has its own GP, who visits regularly and provides emergency cover. Arrangements can be made for residents to retain their own doctor if they wish.

We have a visiting hairdresser and a chiropodist who both attend regularly.

Accommodation

Dorset House boasts many of the features of its former existence as an hotel, such as spacious lounges and an elegant dining room, but it also enjoys a warm, friendly atmosphere in which residents can feel very much at home.

Lifts situated at either end of the building provide easy access to the first floor. The individual rooms (all en-suite)vary in shape and size, but all are pleasant and well-proportioned. Every room overlooks one of our specially designed gardens, which are easily accessible. Meals are served in the spacious dining room but may be taken in residents’ rooms if required.

A wide variety of appetising food is freshly prepared by specialist chefs, who are experienced in providing balanced and nutritional meals and catering for special diets.
