Capital Development: Dorset House

The first step focuses on Dorset House, our home in Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire.
We want to build a secure new residential Dementia Care Unit in the grounds of the home as well as to provide free Day Care to support the elderly and their relatives and carers on a daily basis within the locality.
A contemporary Dementia Care Unit will be opened out to the community as well as ensuring continuity of care to current residents.
Dorset House will become a ‘home for life’ offering nursing, residential and sensitive end of life care.
Free Day Care
Free Day Care provision for people with dementia whose relatives are able to continue to look after them at home but who could benefit from respite will also be offered. This support will be an important lifeline for carers to meet with other people in similar circumstances, as well as a place where information can be accessed for other services that may be of help.
Dementia Care Training
A varied training programme to raise awareness ranging from one-day courses to help support loved ones and relatives to look after people with dementia through to longer-term training and assessment for a wide range of healthcare professionals will be available.
